The 4th and last call in Thematic Priority 1 (TP1) "Life sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health" is published ! Deadline for proposal submission is 9 November, 2005.

15% of the budget for TP1 is reserved for the participation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and proposal consortia should aim at having a min. of 15% of the budget allocated to SMEs.

In addition, a Specific "SME call" for projects is introduced to stimulate the participation of SMEs in TP1. "SME-STREPS" (Specific Targeted Research Projects) are designed to boost SME efforts towards research and innovation.

The total indicative budget of the 4th call is amounting to 555.6 M€, i.e. the indicative budget for the traditional thematic call being 381.6 M€, with the indicative budget  for the "SME call" amounting to 171 M€.

A database of more than 900 SMEs profiles and Partner searches are available on the website of  "SMEs go LifeSciences", an iniitative which supports Life Sciences SMEs participation in European Research and Development projects.
