The Proimmune T cell detection technology is based on Pro5® MHC Class I Pentamers and MHC Class II Ultimers™.
Pro5® MHC Class I Pentamers are the most consistent technology for detecting CD8+ antigen-specific T cells. They bind directly to T cell receptors specific for a single MHC allele and peptide combination. Pro5® Pentamers can be used to detect and separate antigen-specific T cell populations as rare as 0.02% of lymphocytes. They are also suitable for detailed epitope characterization and further immune monitoring.
EuroThymaide partners involved in research work involving T cell detection are participating in a webcast which explains the importance of having a research tool that is sensitive, accurate and gives reproducible results.
MHC Class II Ultimers™, the result of several years of intensive research at ProImmune, finally allow researchers access to an affordable tool for evaluating and characterizing CD4+ single antigen-specific T cells.
Class II Ultimers™ have a superior peptide-linked planar design to improve the interaction between the MHC-peptide complexes and the T cell receptors compared to MHC tetramers. The fluorescent detection label has been optimized to maximize the signal to noise ratio of this assay.
